We at Highlander Siberian Huskies want to make sure that all our Buyers and Siberians are truly happy together.
Therefore we ask all our prospective puppy buyers to fill out this questionnaire. Please understand that each individual puppy placement is determined according to that specific puppy's personality and by the role it will play within it's new family. We carefully evaluate each puppy as it is growing up in order to make this determination so that the right match can be made the first time. This is our way of fostering friendships that will last a life time.

If you are interested in purchasing one of our pups, please fill out the questionnaire below.  If there will be more than one "buyer", each person needs to fill out a separate questionnaire.

4.) How long at this address?
5.) Is this an apartment or house? Do you rent or own?
6) If renting, can you get a signed agreement allowing pets from your landlord?
7.) Do you have children? If yes, what are their ages?
8) Has there ever been a problem with one of your children and animals before? If yes, please explain.
9.) Do you have other pets? If yes, what kind? How old? What sex? Are they spayed/neutered?
     How do they all get along? Who is your Vet and may we contact him or her?
10.) Have you owned dogs in the past? If yes, which breed? And what happened to them?
11.) Have you ever taken a dog to the pound, or back to its Breeder, or to a rescue? If yes, what were the circumstances?
12.) May we have the names and numbers of 2 references?

About the Siberian Husky:
1.) Have you ever owned a Siberian Husky before? If no, have you researched the breed? Are you familiar with the socialization needs of a Siberian Husky? Are you sure you can meet these needs?
2.) What are your reasons for wanting a Siberian Husky? (pet, obedience, conformation, dog sled racing, agility, etc....)
3.) If co-buying, who will the dog live with?
4.) Are you willing to take responsibility for this Siberian Husky for the next 10-15 years?
5.) Do you have a preference to sex and color? If yes, what are your reasons?
6.) Do you have a fenced yard or kennel? If no, then how will you exercise your Siberian Husky?
7.) If you work outside of the home, where will your Siberian Husky spend its time while you are gone?
8.) Where will your Siberian Husky stay if you go on vacation or suddenly become ill?

Our Requirements:
1.) All of our Siberian Huskies are sold by contract only. We do this to protect our dogs and to assure all our buyers
      that we stand behind every dog produced at Highlander. Would you object to signing our contract?
2.) We require that the AKC registration papers be filled out and sent in for individual registrations. Will you object to fulfilling this aspect of our contract?  If so, please explain why.
3.) We ask that all OFA and CERF evaluation results be reported to us.  Once again, this is for our records.
     Would you object to forwarding these reports to us?
4.) We recommend that all pups be taken to puppy obedience class (or to some type of training and socialization event).
     Will you be unable to meet this recommendation for any reason?
5.) We require all pet pups to be spayed/neutered.   We mark the non-breeding (or limited registration) boxes on their registration papers.
      Do you have a problem with this? If so, why?
6.) We, as breeders, strive to breed Siberian Huskies that are physically and mentally sound.  This does not, however, mean that all our of Siberian Huskies are perfect.  If a problem arises, we want to be contacted immediately with full details, whether the problem is genetic or otherwise - (including death).  Again, this helps us to keep accurate records. Will this be a problem? If yes, why?
7.) Every now and then, we send updates about ourselves and our dogs to all of our Siberian Husky Buyers.  We would like to (and expect to) hear back from you at that time, as this communication helps us in keeping good records.  Will you agree to this?

Note:  Of course, you are encouraged to send updates to us at anytime throughout your Siberian's life and we love pictures! ! !

8.) We require notification if you can no longer keep the dog.
      Will this be a problem? 
 9.) If we do not have the Siberian Husky for you, may we refer you to another reputable breeder?

Thank you for taking the time to fill out the questionnaire. We hope you understand the reasons for the need to have a questionnaire. Most of the questions are included in the questionnaire because of past experiences.   We only want our Siberian Huskies to have a happy and healthy life. We trust that, as a dog lover, you ,too, can appreciate this.
